Getting Started
Starting Golden Bear Challenge
To begin playing, click the Start button on your Windows 95/98 desktop, select
Programs, and then select Jack Nicklaus 6: Golden Bear Challenge. The opening
cinematic will begin to play. To bypass the cinematic, press the Space Bar. After
the cinematic, you will be taken to the Golden Bear Challenge Main Menu
screen.
MAIN MENU: From the Main Menu, you have quick access to various interface screens
which allow you to set up games to your liking. Main Menu options include:
- Setup Game: Click here to select a course, choose players, or adjust
other game settings before playing.
- Quick Start: Click here to bypass all setup menus and begin playing
immediately. Your last Course, Player and Game settings will be used if you use
Quick Start.
- Saved Game and Shots: Click here to load a previously saved game, shot,
tournament or season.
- Internet Links: Click here to access the Web site where you will find
courses designed by Golden Bear Challenge players from all over the world.
- Help: Click here to access the online help file.
- Info and Credits: Click here to access the Golden Bear Challenge game
credits.
- Exit: Click here to quit playing Golden Bear Challenge.
To set up course, player and network play conditions for your next round of golf,
choose Setup Game on the Main Menu.
Golden Bear Buttons
At the next screen, you will have access to the four main game setup screens. On
the right side of each of these setup screens, there are four Golden Bear
buttons. These buttons include:
- Start Game: Click on this button to start your next round of golf. You
can quickly see what course, players and game you'll be playing by looking at the
tabs at the top of the screen.
- Return to Main Menu: Click on this button to return to the Main Menu.
- Game Preferences: Click here to access the Game Preferences menu. NOTE:
Go to the Game Preferences menu for more information.
- Exit Game: Click here to quit playing Golden Bear Challenge.
